I Went to Japan and Had a Blast
So I went to Japan and had a blast. Here are some things which I found interesting.
- You don’t have trash cans. You keep trash with you until you are at your accommodation and there are very few bins outside.
- Toilets are awesome. However, why are all bathrooms made by a single company, TOTO?
- Public transport is punctual, but not to the second. A couple of minutes late was pretty normal. Still amazing tho.
- In a crowded metro, people don’t speak loudly. Also, they don’t say “sorry” wen passing trough.
- Food is amazing. Kombini food is decent but a bit overpriced. Supermarkets are the same as Kombinis but much cheaper. My favourites were Onigiri and Melon pans.
- Book Off is my favourite store. I bought a used Game Boy Color for 30€ and some old mangas.
- Stationary is pretty amazing.
- Books are really cheap.
- It’s humid and hot. But metros often have mildly air conditioned cars, which are way better than full blast AC.
- The English level is pretty low compared to other places. People are super nice and helpful nevertheless.
- Tokyo > Osaka > Yokohama > Kyoto.
